The Campership Alliance is a community based collaborative with the sole purpose
of providing scholarship opportunities for low income, disadvantaged, minority children
and young adults residing in Goleta, Santa Barbara, and Carpinteria areas.
The Campership participants who qualify will have the opportunity to participate in over
30 local summer camps that will enrich and expand their life experiences at no cost to
them.

Aqua Camp:
Enjoy summer of water-fun! Includes water safety instruction,
tide pool and marine life discovery; water games,
arts and crafts, fishing, and field trips.
Nature Camp: This popular camp explores
local flora and fauna and teaches an appreciation
for the environment. Campers will also enjoy crafts,
skits, camp songs and field trips, as well as a sleepover.
Sports & Beach Camp: A summer of fun.
This camp is for children who enjoy sports and various
athletic activities. Camp includes archery, golf,
tennis, softball, flag football and trips to local
beaches.
Skateboard Camp: Skate without the crowds!
Get exclusive access to Skater’s Point and learn
proper techniques and safety while improving your
skateboarding skills. Skaters will be grouped by skill
level as they experience the challenges of Skater’s
Point.
Discovery Camp: Discover the wonderful world
of science in a fun, half-day, hands-on environment.
This two-week camp offers campers the opportunity
to work on experiments, make circuit boards, assemble
rockets and take excursions to local businesses and
points of interest.
Beach Volleyball Clinic: This camp
is for all ability levels. Players are introduced
to doubles and six-person team play and are coached
on correct ball handling, passing, setting and hitting.
Advanced Beach Volleyball Clinic:
Build on basic skills while applying advanced techniques
and strategies from current volleyball professionals
playing on the AVP tour.
Jr. Tennis Camp: This camp helps
in developing discipline, better playing techniques,
sportsmanship, and teamwork while developing social
skills and having fun.
Soccer Clinic: A one week intensive
soccer clinic. This camp offers the best way for your
child to learn the fundamental skills of soccer and
improve the skills they already possess, while learning
self-discipline.
Junior Lifeguard Camp: This camp
is a disciplined training program of swimming, running,
competition and education. Campers will participate
in daily workouts, water safety, first aid, marine
education, lifeguard competitions and more. Strong
swimming skills are a must. All new participants are
required to pass a swim test.
Ka Nai’a Outrigger & Kayaking Clinic:
Your child will enjoy the experience and challenges
of kayaking and team paddling. The clinic includes
paddling techniques, canoe and water safety, team
competition, swimming and ama-surfing. All equipment
is provided. All participants must be able to swim
100 yards and tread water.
Triathlon Camp: Participants receive
instruction in basic swimming, cycling, running, nutrition,
hydration, and how to transition between events. NOTE:
Minimum Eligibility
Requirements: Participants must be able to swim one
lap of a pool (25 yards), run one lap of a track (1/4
mile) and bike two miles. Participants must have their
own bike and helmet.

Grand
Canyon: Your child will have the opportunity
to visit the Colorado River, Grand Canyon, Lake Pow-Wow,
Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, hike the “Narrows
and Angel’s Landing”, camp at Quail Lake,
visit Las Vegas’ Wet and Wild Water Park.
Camp Whittier: This five day, four-night
camp is set in a rustic setting of oak trees directly
across from Lake Cachuma. This camp includes archery,
arts and crafts, swimming, ropes courses, hiking,
fishing, campfires and games.

Refugio State
Beach Camp: Children will experience the
magic of camping under the stars at El Capitan State
Beach. The days will be filled with swimming, surfing,
kayaking, horseback riding and hiking.
Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History
Eco-Experts:
Refine your skills as a naturalist. Learn how to
collect data and construct scientific illustrations
while keeping a nature journal of Santa Barbara.
Eco-Explorers: Explore the museum
grounds and Mission Creek. While on nature hikes,
discover bugs, animal tracks, local habitats and
orienteering. Spend fun Family Fridays hiking in
local mountains.
Space Explorers: Explore the Planetarium
and space lab as you learn about planets, stars
and other amazing things that make up our solar
system. Learn about telescopes and conduct some
spacey experiments.
Raintree Ranch Camp: A summer camp filled
with learning and fun! This camp includes riding,
vaulting, horsemanship, special presentations and
more.
Kindercamp:
This camp is designed for young children who may be
new to the camp experience. Children will participate
in arts and crafts, sports and games and field trips
to local parks and museums.
Adventure Camp: This fun filled camp
caters to enthusiastic 1st and 2nd graders. The camp
includes weekly field trips, swimming excursions,
arts and crafts projects, sports, games, drama, music
and more!
Camp Challenge: This camp is full
of adventure. Campers will explore local parks and
museums. Participate in theme days, arts and crafts,
sports and games, group competitions, drama, music
and make new friends.
Teen Scene: This camp develops leadership
skills, sets up fitness programs, takes road trips
to beaches, participates in service projects and has
a blast making new friends and hanging out at the
YMCA.
Camp Arbolado: Nestled in the San
Berdinandino Mountains, this resident camp emphasizes
self-esteem and environmental and nature awareness.
Campers will experience archery, canoeing, crafts,
hiking, swimming, rope courses, campfires and nature
education.
Teen Camp Redwood: Located in the
Redwood Forest, this resident camp includes an 80”s
dance, extreme challenges, arts and crafts, a 20-foot
rock climbing wall, splash contests, campfires and
other camp activities.

Zoo
Zoo Camp:
The Santa Barbara Zoo’s award winning Summer
Adventure Camps introduce children to the wonderful
world of animals and nature. All sessions include
behind the scenes visits, up-close animal encounters,
crafts and games – have fun while learning.
Refugio Junior Lifeguard Program
Lifeguard Camp: This program
puts less emphasis on competition and more on
having a fun and positive experience. This camp
incorporates water safety and water workout activities.
Swim test required and strong swimming skills
are a must.
Nature and Games Camp
Ages: 5-12
Nature and Games Camp includes nature hikes, outdoor games, plant germination, arts and crafts using natural materials, and education about native plants and animals. Among our guest speakers are staff from the Santa Barbara City Fire Department, Public Works, and the Humane Society who instruct the children in a variety of areas including fire safety, water conservancy, and animal appreciation and safety.
Sports and Activities Camp
Ages: 5-12
Sports and Activities Camp includes a variety of games and non-competitive sports activities including hiking, tag, kickball, frisbee, relays, capture the flag, basketball drills and water games.
Rugby Camp
Ages: 5-12
Learn the basic rules and skills of the second most popular sport in the world. With coaches from UCSB men’s and women’s rugby, campers will receive first-class instruction. Participants receive a youth rugby ball and Elings Park camp T-shirt.
Money Camp:
Money Camp for kids uses an innovative day camp format
to provide middle and high school age kids with the
financial tools they need to choose and create financial
independence.
